Franz Josef Hahn, CEO and Iain Reynolds, Head of Analytics at Peak Re, provided a keynote speech entitled “Asia – A paradigm shift for ILS” for the Artemis ILS Asia 2020 virtual conference.

The speech discussed the growing values at risk and PML’s in the Asia region, as well as the expansion of insurance and reinsurance penetration.

It then focused on opportunities for insurance-linked securities (ILS) activity in the region to assist in providing reinsurance capacity to close the protection gap across Asia Pacific.

The keynote speech is followed by a Q&A session with Artemis Editor Steve Evans, in which the topics are delved into more deeply and Peak Re’s executives also discussed the companies own ambitions with ILS, particularly in relation to the formation of Peak Capital as its own ILS investment manager.
